RESOURCES + FAQs

  • Technical Data
  • How long will it take for Tank Bond Clear Epoxy to cure?

    4 Hours.

How big of a gap will Tank Bond Clear Epoxy Fill?

Tank Bond Clear Epoxy will cure to a clear layer for gaps up to 5/8” wide and no more than ¼” deep. For gaps larger than this, we recommend you mix and apply in layers to avoid yellowing that results from too much heat generated by a large batch of adhesive curing together.

Can Tank Bond Clear Epoxy be used for exterior repairs?

Yes. It is a water-resistant adhesive that can be used for exterior repairs.

What substrates will Tank Bond Clear Epoxy bond?

Metal, Plastic, Tile, Ceramic, Glass, Stone, and Wood. Plastics that this epoxy will bond include polycarbonate, PVC, and ABS. It is not suitable for bonding polyethylene, polypropylene, or PTFE.

How fast will this epoxy set?

This epoxy sets in 5 minutes when mixed properly. We recommend you mix the adhesive at least 45 seconds to combine well. Then promptly apply the adhesive and form your bond. The more adhesive you mix at once, the faster the bond will set. The epoxy will get thicker as it starts to set. If you notice a change in viscosity, you are nearing the end of your working time and should complete your repair quickly.

Does the epoxy have an odor?

Yes, it has a slight odor you will notice as it cures. We always recommend you mix and apply in a well-ventilated area, but the odor is not particularly strong compared to other epoxy adhesives. This formula has a much lower odor during mixture than the Tank Bond Heavy Duty Advanced Epoxy formula.
