Worst product I've ever TRIED to use

After cutting off the tip, I was unable to squeeze any product out. I even used pliers and it was almost dry before it hit the wood. Finally split the tube to get any semi-paste on my putty knife. Had to throw most of it away.

It's good for indoor quick fixes around the house. I've only used a small amount, but so far so good and no touch ups needed. It's only been a few weeks so can't say how durable it will be longer time. I'm hopeful though!

I used this to fix some cracks. It was really easy to come out of the tube. Filled in the cracks nicely. Easy to sand and strain. I definitely will buy again. Needs to come in larger containers though

This was just what I needed to fix up some old dressers and tables to restore. It is easy to dispense and apply. It can be a bit messy but nothing that is not easily wiped away with a damp cloth.

The only I had to be careful about was making sure I used it on an area that didn't have too many natural variations in the coloring- because this is one color. And I had to match the color.

I received a sample of the DAP Plastic Wood All Purpose Wood Filler. I received the Natural Interior/Exterior color; however, I am told it comes in many colors. I used this product to fill a bunch of nail holes in solid oak baseboard and trim boards around the house, as the job just never got quite finished. (you know - the cobbler's son goes without shoes?) Well, my husband is a contractor. When my hubby saw me using the DAP I was scolded for not using one that was already open. It seems that this is his go-to product of choice. With that being said, let me say that I was VERY impressed with the ease of use, sandability, and stainability of DAP All Purpose Wood Filler. Sanding capabilities are phenomenal! I was very impressed. The only downside to this product is that once you open it, plan on using it all within a very short period of time. It does not store well. The cap that seals the top is NOT 100% air-tight, and the product DOES dry out. I was told they probably have 30-40 tubes of this stuff down at my husband's shop, and many of them are dried out and no longer usable. I think that is just the nature of the product, and I don't consider it a fault. Just plan accordingly when doing your job. I love this stuff. Obviously my husband loves it, and now that I know how easy it is to use, I can finish up all those little projects that seem to get done perfectly for everyone else, but never quite finished in my own house!

I recently tried the DAP Plastic Wood Filler Natural color in the tube for many repairs in my home. I didn't realize it came in a 6 ounce tube which is a decent size for my projects. I needed a wood filler for both interior and exterior areas. I used to use Elmer's wood filler and Bondo. I like the DAP much better. It is easier to use and has a stronger bonding power and sands smoother. I was pleased with the durability and ease of use. I filled in a few minor 1/8" deep gouges on some furniture, cupboards, and doorway frames. Outdoors, I used it on my shed hinge screw holes and the cracks on my gourds. I had some long deep cracks on some of my birdhouse gourds and Dap wood filler did a tremendous job of making the the deep cracks on my birdhouse gourds virtually invisible after staining them. I had to fill in a few layers and let them dry in between because they were somewhat deep. DAP also worked extremely well for filling in the screw holes for my heavy drapery hardware and so far it is holding up very sturdy and strong. The only issue I had with the filler was that I would have preferred it to be a little thicker. Using Dap in a vertical position such as a door, sags downward from gravity. I had to keep pushing it up with the putty knife until it dried a little more to give a better hold. To get around that, I just put some Dap on a piece of foil to set out a short time before using. No big deal. I was able to easily sand and paint the areas after they dried. The end result was excellent. I used to use the powder type filler mix with water to control thickness but still prefer the DAP wood filler, and performance of it for durability, sanding, water clean up, staining/painting and the finished appearance. It was so easy to wipe off the areas I goofed up on with a damp cloth. I will purchase more of this DAP wood filler from now on and I recommend it highly.
