DESCRIPTION
Weldwood Gel Formula Contact Cement is an adhesive that delivers a permanent, high-strength bond across various surfaces. Designed for hassle-free application, it provides a permanent bond on contact, eliminating the need for clamps or temporary fasteners. Ideal for bonding high-pressure laminates to countertops, tabletops, and cabinets, it forms a strong, durable bond when pressure is applied. This gel formula is easy to spread and is ready to use within 15-20 minutes, with a long open time of up to 2 hours. Surfaces bond immediately upon contact, offering high green strength for immediate use. The bond is heat and water resistant, making it suitable for both interior and exterior projects.
Dowels (narrow strip or wood/plastic) can be used to prevent surface contact while positioning surfaces. Place dowels/spacers every 6 to 12 inches. Remove dowels as surfaces are pressed together working from the center to the edges to prevent air entrapment.
Trimming or finishing operations can be performed immediately after bonding.
