DAPtex^® Plus Snowmen

Level = Beginner 

Snowmen will take 24 hours to dry completely and decorating will take approximately 30 minutes.

YOU WILL NEED:

• 1 can DAPtex^® Plus Window & Door or DAPtex^® Latex Insulating Foam Sealant
• DAP^® One Stik2^® Permanent Adhesive
• 1 small basket
• Ribbon
• "Googily" eyes
• Orange construction paper
• Sequins
• Blue and white paint
• Paintbrush
• Metallic silver fine-point paint pen
• Black permanent marker
• Newspaper
• Utility knife
• Scissors

INSTRUCTIONS:
Tip: Project steps involving dispensing of DAPtex^® Plus or DAPtex^® should be performed in a well ventilated area. Read directions on back of can before beginning. Foam will expand approximately 10 percent greater than its dispensed size and will take 24 hours to dry completely.

On piece of newspaper, dispense DAPtex^® foam into small ball-shaped pieces (golf-ball sized and larger). It is best to do more than you need so you will have a variety of shapes and sizes to choose from. Allow 24 hours to dry completely in a well ventilated area.

With paintbrush, paint weaved portion of basket blue, and then all trim and handle portions of basket white. Once paint is dry, use One Stik2^® to glue sequins in equal distance around rim of basket. With metallic silver pen, draw pattern between each sequin.

Once DAPtex^® has dried for 24 hours, carefully peel DAPtex^® off of newspaper being careful not to squeeze or indent the foam with fingernails. With One Stik2^®, use the broad end of the adhesive pen to cover the top of the DAPtex^® ball that will be the snowman's body. Then gently press the DAPtex^® ball that will be the snowman's head into the adhesive. Apply One Stik2^® adhesive with fine-tip end to the back of the googily eyes and gently press into place on snowman's head.

To make nose, cut a small triangle out of the orange construction paper and fold in half by length. With a utility knife, carefully cut two small lines in the snowman's head for the nose to slide into. Then with a black permanent marker, make dots under the nose to create the snowman's smile. With ribbon, cut a small length and carefully tie around snowman's neck to create a scarf.

Place snowmen in basket and allow all materials to dry completely.

Tip: If snowmen are not tall enough to appear over the edge of the basket, squash unused, dried DAPtex^® into the bottom of the basket and then place snowmen inside basket. The squashed DAPtex^® will raise up the snowmen.
