NEW DAP® PREMIUM LIGHTWEIGHT JOINT COMPOUND FEATURES DRYDEX™ DRY TIME INDICATOR
TECHNOLOGY & EASY-TO-USE SQUARE TUB
BALTIMORE, November 22, 2005 – No mud pan; no bubbles; no mess;
no guesswork; and, most importantly, no wasted time. That sums up what DAP’s
new Premium Lightweight Joint Compound with DryDex™ Dry Time Indicator
technology means to the do-it-yourselfer as well as the professional
contractor.
DAP’s new Premium Lightweight Joint Compound with DryDex™ Dry Time Indicator
goes on pink and dries white, eliminating the guesswork of when to apply
additional coats or sand for finishing. Its premium formula is de-aired during
the manufacturing process, preventing the formation of pinhole bubbles on
application, which allows for an ultra smooth finish.
It works faster, sands effortlessly and weighs up to 25 percent less than
conventional joint compounds for easier handling. The lightweight formulation
also means less shrinking, therefore fewer coats are required than with other
joint compounds, which saves time and money.
It comes in an easy-to-use square container, which makes drywall work a breeze.
The container has a wide opening that easily accommodates a 6-inch taping knife
unlike standard round containers, letting the user work directly out of the
container. This eliminates the need to transfer the joint compound to a drywall
(mud) pan, which means time saved. The square tub shape allows users to scrape
out virtually all joint compound, minimizing waste. The heavy duty container is
resealable with a secure lid, keeping it fresh and ready for future use.
"DAP is committed to making premium products that help contractors, remodelers,
painters and do-it-yourselfers save time and money," said David Fuller, DAP’s
Vice President of Marketing.
"Our new Premium Lightweight Joint Compound meets those goals with its
user-friendly features like the dry time indicator and square container."
DAP’s new Premium Lightweight Joint Compound with DryDex® Dry-Time Indicator is
perfect for finishing panel joints, nail heads and metal corner beads. It can
also be used to repair holes or other damage in drywall and plaster. It will be
available in December 2005 at home centers and hardware stores for around
$20.00.
