DAP® DYNAFLEX 230® Premium Sealant Gets a Package Update

Updated Look Prominently Displays "Waterproof and Paintable" Features

BALTIMORE (June 1, 2009) – DAP Products Inc. dispels the myth that consumers must choose between "waterproof" and "paintable" when selecting a sealant in today's marketplace. DAP® DYNAFLEX 230® features updated packaging to inform users at a glance that they can actually have both.

After conducting extensive product concept and communication research, DAP updated the label to include an attention-grabbing logo prominently displayed on the front panel of the cartridge which reads "Waterproof and Paintable – Outstanding Durability and Adhesion". This logo clearly communicates these two very important product features.

Additionally the sealant characteristics listed as bullet points on the front panel are those stated to be of high importance among sealant users: crack proof; cured sealant is mold and mildew resistant; permanently flexible and easy water clean up.

With increasing importance placed on energy efficiency, an "Improves Energy Efficiency" logo was also added on the front panel of the cartridge. This will aid users looking for sealants to complete home sealing projects in selecting products with the most flexibility and adhesion, two important characteristics for a sealant to have when weatherizing. In addition, a "Low VOC Content" logo was added to the back panel for users looking for products with fewer indoor air pollutants. While DYNAFLEX 230® seals out water and air, it also seals out insects from entering the home through small gaps and cracks and this benefit is called out as a bullet point on the front panel.

DAP® DYNAFLEX 230® is available in wide variety of colors to match most common building materials: White, Clear, Almond, Aluminum Gray, Cedar Tan, Brown, Dark Bronze and Black. To aid in easy and accurate color selection, the color is listed at the top of the cartridge near the color-coded nozzle. All colors are packaged in a 10.1 fluid ounce, premium-looking varnished plastic cartridge, with the color White also available in an easy to use 5.5 fluid ounce squeeze tube that eliminates the need for a caulk gun.

DYNAFLEX 230® is ideal for a wide variety of applications such as sealing around windows, doors, siding, trim, molding and baseboards. It exceeds ASTM C 920, Class 25 specifications and is the perfect sealant solution for both contractors and do-it-yourselfers.
