DAP® ACQUIRES PATCH & REPAIR PRODUCTS LINE FROM CUSTOM® BUILDING PRODUCTS

Deal extends DAP’s market leadership in ready-to-use Patch & Repair Products

BALTIMORE, February 10, 2006 – DAP Inc. (DAP), a wholly-owned subsidiary of RPM International Inc. (NYSE: RPM), today announced the purchase of Custom Building Products’ ready-to-use (pre-mix) Patch & Repair Products. Seal Beach, California-based Custom® Building Products has a 40-year history as a manufacturer of industry-leading tile and stone installation products.

"The purchase of Custom Building Products’ Patch & Repair Products solidifies our leadership position in this category and furthers DAP’s long-term vision to expand its market presence through both internal growth initiatives and select, strategic acquisitions,” said John McLaughlin, President & CEO of DAP. “We have long admired the breadth of their line and are excited about adding these products to the DAP family of brands."

The transaction extends DAP’s leading market position in the ready-to-use patch and repair products and adds to its portfolio a number of well known spackling, patching and wall repair products, including Patch-N-Paint® Lightweight Spackling, Patch-N-Paint® Wall Repair Patch Kit, All Purpose Spackling Paste, Flexall® Flexible All Purpose Filler, Custom Patch® Smooth Elastomeric Patching Compound, Custom Patch® Textured Elastomeric Patching Compound, Pre-mix Stucco Patch, Pre-mix Concrete Patch, Squeeze-N-Fill™ Concrete Crack Filler and Wallboard Joint Compound.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
